Personal finance, with receipts
About Cited Cents
Cited Cents is an independent educational publication built around a simple rule: money advice should show its work. Our field guides make assumptions visible, name meaningful tradeoffs, and point readers to primary public sources they can verify for themselves.
The publication is intentionally smaller than many blog libraries. A guide is kept public only when it passes repeated checks for source quality, structural clarity, and policy-aligned disclosures.
What we publish
The library covers budgeting, debt and credit, saving, investing, retirement, taxes, side income, and practical planning. Examples are illustrations—not promises—and every guide is written for general education rather than an individual financial situation.
How the guides are prepared
AI assists with research organization and drafting under a structured publishing contract. The Cited Cents Editorial Desk is accountable for what remains public. Each flagship page must include substantive decision analysis, explicit assumptions, failure modes, a usable worksheet, and links that let a reader validate important claims with the responsible government agency, regulator, or official program. AI cannot know a reader's complete circumstances or replace a qualified professional.
Published workflow
- Source selection: government, regulator, and official program sites are preferred for claims with financial impact.
- Editorial assembly: each page must include assumptions, failure modes, a decision sequence, and a validation checklist.
- Policy check: no invented testimonials, no fake authority, and no copy-only rewriting without original context.
- Verification check: key facts link to current official sources and date-sensitive details are explicitly scoped.
Who stands behind the pages
Articles are published by the Cited Cents Editorial Desk. That label identifies the publication, not a fictional person or professional credential. We do not claim to be a financial adviser, law firm, tax preparer, insurer, or investment manager. The editorial desk can be reached at Admin@CitedCents.com.
If you want to audit how we operate before using or linking to a specific guide, review:
- Editorial standard for workflow and gates.
- Corrections policy for issue handling.
How trust is earned
We prioritize current government, regulator, and official program sources for claims that can affect a financial decision. Automated publication must stop when depth, source relevance, link, duplication, disclosure, or build checks fail.
Read our editorial standard and corrections policy for the operating details.
What readers can expect from every public guide
- Every public page must justify why it helps a real reader beyond branding or navigation.
- Financial claims include official context and a clear reason for the recommendation, or they are removed.
- Each guide is tested for structure, originality, and update readiness before publication.
- Commercial relationships never replace the educational explanation or the reader's own verification step.
